CSSI’s Dedication to Healthcare Illustrated by Decade-long Partnership with Non-Profit Provider of Rehabilitation Data Services

Coconut Creek, Florida, 07/14/2009 – Computer Solutions and Software International, Inc. (CSSI®) today reinforces its dedication to healthcare through its continued partnership with Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDSMR), a not-for-profit organization that offers its subscribers a wide range of tools and services enabling documentation of the severity of patient disabilities and the results of medical rehabilitation in a uniform way.

CSSI has been a major development and implementation partner with UDSMR for more than eight years. The UDS-PRO® system, developed by CSSI for UDSMR, is the industry’s largest patient outcomes software application and database of patient records, managing data for more than 70% of all inpatient rehabilitation facilities.

The extensive knowledge contained in this database makes UDSMR the trusted source within the rehabilitation industry for objective evaluations of industry trends for use in standards, benchmarking, and public policy debates.

This powerful system combines UDSMR’s clinical expertise and CSSI’s technical capabilities to manage all aspects of processing data from the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI), beginning with data collection and case management through data transmission to both the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and UDSMR. This system was designed to assist rehabilitation facilities in complying with rules mandated by CMS regarding the collection of data used for reimbursement of all Medicare patients across the country.

“CSSI really understands the industry’s need for secure management of sensitive data, and how to best design technology to organize, control access and share that data,” said Pawel Wieczorek, CIO of UDSMR. “We’ve trusted CSSI for over ten years for their domain expertise and reliability. The sizeable market share of subscribers is a testimony to the quality of the product created by this strong partnership.”

CSSI is also UDSMR’s exclusive implementation partner for the Health Level 7 (HL7) interface, an optional add-on service to UDS-PRO® database subscribers. The HL7 interface communicates with other health care systems and the UDS-PRO® system for seamless transmittance of accurate data.

Due to the success of these systems, UDSMR has again chosen CSSI as their implementation partner to develop a documentation tool which will add to their integrated suite of database and reporting systems.

“Our partnership with UDSMR has been very rewarding”, said Prabhakar Dixit, Program Manager at CSSI. “UDSMR provides a highly valuable service to both their subscribers and the rehabilitation industry as a whole with their UDS-PRO® System database. We are extremely happy to continue our association with UDSMR in the development of their new documentation tool.”

Stephen Bruno Featured as Thought Leader in Windows in Financial Services Magazine

Executive’s interview featured in a profile of Insurance Technology industry leaders on the topic of Strategic IT Investment Critical to Competitive Edge

Coconut Creek, Florida, 6/30/2009 — Computer Solutions and Software International, Inc. (CSSI®), parent company of VUE Software®, today announced that Stephen Bruno, President and CEO, was interviewed in a profile of Insurance Technology industry leaders in Windows in Financial Services Magazine Spring 2009 issue.

As the driving force behind one of the leading technology providers for the insurance industry, and with eighteen years of experience in the industry, Stephen Bruno provided his insight into the approach insurers should take with strategic IT investments during an economic slowdown.

“Even in these lean times, organizations need to plan and invest for long-term goals. Additionally, innovative technology solutions form the foundation that will prepare an organization for the changes that lie ahead both in the downslide and during the recovery,” he stated.
He was also asked to capture the new capabilities that insurers can successfully wield to sustain their market share.

“Carriers are continuing to adopt relationship management solutions in an effort to provide better service, both internally to their agents and externally to brokers and customers. More forward thinking carriers are looking to implement a comprehensive strategy, a fully-integrated approach that manages the entire cycle from point of contact, to online enrollment, to paying broker commissions and managing renewals.”

This is the second time Mr. Bruno has been featured by the publication. The full interview can be read online at the Windows in Financial Services Magazine website.
